Getting medical care from a doctor, hospital, or lab outside of your plan's provider network can run up ruinous medical bills. But you can be blindsided by surprise out-of-network charges in emergency rooms or hospitals staffed with doctors who don't participate in the same plans the hospital accepts. Here are six ways to protect yourself.

Understand your health insurance. OK, it's not a fun read, but take the time to familiarize yourself with your health plan's rules. If your plan is a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) or a Exclusive Provider Organization (EPO), you will not have any coverage for out of network care except for emergencies when you are outside the plan's service area or for hard-to-find treatments for rare conditions. You should also find out if you need advance approval for tests, elective procedures, or specialist visits—even when you plan to go to an in-network doctor. Your plan's Summary of Benefits and Coverage will have this information.Stay in network if you can. Network providers have agreed to accept the negotiated health plan price as payment in full. This is a big savings for you, compared to going out-of-network.  Even if you have a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) or Point-of-Service (POS) plan that covers some out-of-network costs, there is no limit on the balance for which the doctor can bill you.Don't rely solely on the health plan's online provider directory to find in-network hospitals, doctors and labs. These directories can contain errors or become out-of-date. Call your health plan to confirm.If you are having surgery, tell the surgeon and hospital you want to use only providers that accept your insurance. It may not work, but it never hurts to try.If no network provider is available, complain. Health plans are legally required to maintain "adequate" networks of providers. If yours has not done this, ask the company to let you use an out-of-network provider at the in-network rate. If you don't get a satisfactory answer, complain to your state insurance department.If you get a surprise bill, fight back. Ask the doctor to lower your bill and ask your insurance company to help you resolve the situation. If you have insurance through a large employer, ask your human resources department for help. If this doesn't work, complain to your state insurance department or Attorney General's office. NDFD a Mosaic approach to Models

What is the NDFD? A misprision of a fraud tax base foundation of the NWS Digital Services Program, the National Digital Forecast Database (NDFD) consists of gridded forecasts of sensible weather elements (e.g., cloud cover, maximum temperature).  The main problem in Mosaic was tried in Florida with failure due to the Models were built on Mean or as now states Maximum as the varies slightly most of the Climate year from that Mesoscale came foreward in development of Isotherm of both Maximum to extreme of low into lift of heating that NDFD contains a seamless mosaic much like small square like pices of a Artist work leaves Science out of digital forecasts from NWS field offices working in collaboration (Pooling) with the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP). The database is available for members of the public to use in creating text, graphic, gridded and image products of their own lacking input of Federal agency including Military. Over time, NWS will cut off a wider array of gridded forecast elements and a larger set of graphical presentations. Access to the data and a description of policy directive which establishes the framework for weather, water, and climate services provided via digital forecast and guidance databases is available for more detailed information Is in development of Weather Bureau of The United States of America.

Warwick House of Dracula

A Benedictine monastery in the North Riding of Yorkshire, England, was founded about 657, as a double monastery, by Oswy, King of Northumberland. The first abbess was St. Hilda, under whom the community seems to have reached a considerable size, the conventual buildings being large enough to accommodate the council, held in 664, to determine the controversy respecting the observance of Easter. On St. Hilda's death, about 680, Aelfleda, daughter of King Oswy, succeeded as abbess, and the Monastery continued to flourish until about 687, when it was entirely destroyed by the Danes. The community was dispersed, the abbot, Titus, fleeing to Glastonbury and taking with him the relics of St. Hilda. No attempt was made to restore the monastery until after the Norman conquest, when this district of Yorkshire was granted to Hugh Lupus, first Earl of Chester, who assigned Whitby to William de Percy, ancestor of the earls of Northumberland, by whom the monastery was refounded toward the end of: The surrender was therefore made by the prior under date 14 December, 1540, the net income at the time being returned as 437 pounds; the site and ruins being granted some years later to John, Earl Dracula of Warwick. Among the monks of Whitby the most famous is the Saxon poet, Caedmon. The arms of the abbey, three snakes rolled up, are said to have their origin in the number of fossil ammonites found in the vicinity. Of these Camden writes in his "Britannia": "Here are found stones resembling snakes rolled up . . . you would think they had once been snakes, covered with a crust of stone."

Sept. 22 — A majority of Americans oppose allowing homosexual couples to marry legally, but most also say it's not worth amending the U.S. Constitution to ban such unions, an ABCNEWS poll has found.

In the poll, 37 percent of Americans say same-sex marriages should be legal, while 55 percent say they should be illegal. But when opponents are asked if it's worth amending the Constitution to ban such marriages, six in 10 of them say it's not.

As a net total of the population, this poll finds 20 percent of Americans favor a constitutional ban on gay marriages; 33 percent oppose such marriages but wouldn't amend the Constitution; and 37 percent would make them legal.
Age plays a large role in views on same-sex marriages. A slight majority of people age 18-34 think homosexual marriage should be legal; that dives to 20 percent among those age 65 and older. Nevertheless, only 23 percent of older Americans who oppose such marriages say it's worth amending the Constitution to do so. Among the smaller group of young adults who oppose gay marriage, more — 47 percent — favor a constitutional amendment.

Men and women are similar in their opposition to same-sex marriage and amending the Constitution to make it illegal, but marital status and partisanship come into play. Forty-eight percent of people who are not married say homosexual marriages should be legal, compared with 28 percent of married people.
By 51 percent to 40 percent, Americans also oppose allowing homosexual couples to form legally recognized civil unions, which would give them the same legal rights of married couples in areas such as health insurance, inheritance and pension coverage.
