Today in the Department of Defense, Tuesday, December 22, 2015

 

Secretary of Defense Ash Carter, Deputy Secretary of Defense Bob Work, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Marine Gen. Joseph F. Dunford Jr.  have no public or media events on their schedules.
 
Army Col. Steven Warren, spokesman, Combined Joint Task Force - Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR), briefs the media live via phone from Baghdad, Iraq, at 10 a.m. EST, in the Defense Press Operations Office (2D961) to provide an update on operations. Journalists without a Pentagon building pass will be picked up at the River Pedestrian Bridge Entrance or Pentagon Metro Visitors Center. Plan to arrive no later than 30 minutes prior to the event; have proof of affiliation and two forms of photo identification. Please call 703-697-5131 for escort into the building.  The briefing will also be streamed live on www.defense.gov.
