| TEXT VERSION | EN ESPAÑOL | Attorney General Bondi's Weekly Briefing Today is New Year's Eve and I want to remind Floridians and visitors the importance of staying safe this holiday. Whether staying home and enjoying fireworks, or celebrating away from the house, there are precautions everyone can take to avoid danger and accidents. New Year's Day is one of the deadliest days of the year for alcohol-related fatalities, so please do not drink and drive. Those who drive under the influence endanger themselves, their passengers and everyone on the road. Make a responsible transportation plan prior to leaving the house or hotel. In addition to responsible driving, Floridians should be cautious when using fireworks. To avoid any accidents, follow all the local firework laws, do not use homemade fireworks, keep young children away from fireworks, be prepared in case of a fire and report any fires to 911 immediately. While the holiday season is a time to celebrate with family and friends, please remember to make safe decisions. I thank our state and local law enforcement agencies and other first responders throughout Florida who are dedicated to keeping our Floridians away from harm. Have a safe, happy and healthy new year! | | In The News Oranges vs. apples: Florida AG Pam Bondi bets Gators beat Wolverines, Tampa Bay Times Attorney General Pam Bondi Issues Cyber Warning, WIOD Man rearrested in $2M gift-card scheme claims he was trying to pay legal bills, WFTV | | | |
