DESCRIPTION

 

This position serves as the Regional Business Manager in FWC's 16 counties of the Northwest Region.  The incumbent provides significant finance and budget administrative direction in relation to budget allocations and expenditures.  The position includes monitoring program spending plans, ensuring budget availability, and making recommendations to program budget officers as necessary.

The incumbent will supervise 2 full-time employees.

The position also reviews and approves procurements up to $35,000 and coordinates formal solicitation above $35,000.

Responsible for following the provisions and requirements in section 215.422, Florida Statutes, related to the Department of Financial Services rule and FWC's invoice processing warrant distribution procedures.

Ensures/responsible for regional compliance with all purchasing policies and procedures.

Serve as liaison between regional staff and Tallahassee Purchasing Office.

Coach/train regional staff in matters related to procurement and accounting.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

Preference will be given to applicants with a 4 year degree in Business Management, Accounting, or related discipline.

This position requires the incumbent to have extensive knowledge of accounting principles and practices and also have knowledge of or be able to learn the State of Florida Purchasing Statutes and regulations.

Percentage Travel Required: 10%.

 

Knowledge, Skill(s), and Abilities

 

Knowledge of MyFloridaMarketPlace, state contracts, bids etc.

Knowledge of state financial procurement system- FLAIR

Extensive knowledge of Excel and use of Pivot Tables and Microsoft Suites and Outlook.
