NOTICE OF OPEN HOUSE PUBLIC SCOPING MEETING
for State Route 67 Median Barrier Feasibility Project

SCOPING MEETING
Thursday, August 2 2, 2013
4:00 pm to 7:00 pm
Olive Peirce Middle School
1521 Hanson Lane
Ramona, CA 92065

Map of project area

WHAT'S BEING PLANNED? The California Department of Transportation
(Caltrans) will be the lead agency for a project considering potential
alternatives for improvements to State Route 67 from Willow Road to
Shady Oaks Drive (post miles 6.7-19.0) in the cities of Lakeside,
Poway, and Ramona. The alternatives being considered include a median
barrier and a median buffer. A No-Build alternative will also be part
of the analysis. All work would be within Caltrans existing right of
way.

WHY THIS AD? Caltrans has initiated the required environmental
documentation process and will prepare an Environmental Impact
Report/Environmental Assessment (EIR/EA) to analyze potential effects
the proposed project alternatives may have on the environment. This
notice is to inform you of the scheduled public scoping meeting for
this project. The scoping meeting will provide you with an opportunity
to review and discuss the proposed alternatives and their potential
impact to traffic along the corridor. Caltrans will consider
substantive comments provided in the development of the Draft EIR/EA.

ABOUT THE PUBLIC SCOPING MEETING: Caltrans will be hosting an open
house style scoping meeting. You may attend the meeting anytime
between the hours of 4 and 7 p.m., as there will be no formal
presentation. The public will have the opportunity to speak directly
with Caltrans representatives about the project and its potential
impacts. Meeting attendees will have the opportunity to review a
project fact sheet, corridor maps and other project information.

WHERE YOU COME IN: Comments may be submitted at the scoping meeting by
completing a written comment form. Individuals who require special
accommodation (American Sign Language interpreter, accessible seating,
documentation in alternative formats, etc.) are requested to contact
the District 11 Public Information Office at 619-688-6670 at least 10
days prior to the scheduled meeting date. TDD users may contact the
California Relay Service TDD line at 1-800-735-2929. All comments will
become part of the public record.

CONTACT: For more information about this project, please contact
Richard Estrada, Project Manager, at 619-688-6887 or David Nagy,
Senior Environmental Planner at 619-688-0224. For general information
about transportation issues, please call Caltrans' Public Information
Office at 619-688-6670.
