Calgary - Aubrey Levin Sex Assault TrialJury Asked If They Can Sit Weeks Past Original End Date

CALGARY - The jury members in a sexual assault trial of a former
Calgary psychiatrist Aubrey Levin are being asked to decide if they
can sit weeks longer than originally scheduled.
Levin, who is 73, is accused of sexually assaulting 10 former patients
that were ordered to see him by the courts.
Levin, who parted ways with his original lawyer last week, has now
hired a new lawyer after just a couple of days of representing
himself.
Court of Queen's Bench Justice Donna Shelley told the seven-man,
five-woman jury that the case will be adjourned for a couple of weeks
to give Levin's new lawyer time to prepare.
She says that means that the estimated end to the trial will be
delayed from the middle of November to as late as Dec. 10.
