The Alaska Interagency Coordination Center (AICC) is the Geographic
Area Coordination Center for Alaska. Located on Ft. Wainwright (near
Fairbanks), AICC serves as the focal point for initial attack resource
coordination, logistics support, and predictive services for all state
and federal agencies involved in wildland fire management and
suppression in Alaska.
AICC operates on an interagency basis - cooperators include the Bureau
of Land Management, Stateof Alaska Department of Natural Resources,
USDA Forest Service, National Park Service, Bureau of Indian Affairs,
and the Fish and Wildlife Service.

Narrative: The Galena Local Fire Department called and reported that
the dump had escaped into thewildlands. They had extinguished most of
the fire. Four Alaska Fire Service personnel responded to the dump and
reported it to be contained and not in the wildlands. Zone
surveillance in N114MN also reported that the fire was
currentlycontained to the dump and posed no immediate threat. This was
declared a false alarm.

Narrative: The fire was reported at 0829 by NPS as 5-7 miles north
ofKantishna, 2-3 acres, no visible flame with white smoke. Personnel
aboard surveillance aircraft N309VS observed the fire at 1126and
reported it as 30 acres, 90% active, creeping and backing with 1-2`
flame lengths in spruce and tundra. The fire was burning on a ridgetop
with a low rate of spread to the south. The winds were from the west
at 1-2 with 80% cloud cover. The fire plotted in limited and there
were no values at risk. The fire was placed in monitor status.
