Eight MAFFS C-130 aircraft and support personnel have been activated
and will operate in Colorado. The nd MAFFS are from the 302 Airlift
Wing, Colorado Springs (US Air Force Reserve), the153rd Airlift Wing,
Cheyenne (Wyoming Air National Guard), the 146th Airlift Wing, Channel
Islands(California Air National Guard), andthe 145th Airlift Wing,
Charlotte (North Carolina Air National Guard).
Arapaho, Albany County. IMT 2 (Pechota). Twenty-eight miles northeast
of Wheatland, WY. Timber. Extreme fire behavior. Numerous structures
and oil pipeline threatened. Evacuations in effect. Pine Ridge, Grand
Junction Field Office, BLM. IMT 1 (Hahnenberg). Ten miles north of
Grand Junction, CO. Timber, brush and grass. Sustained runs with
spotting. Numerous structures threatened, oil and gas pipelines
threatened. Evacuations in effect. Waldo Canyon, Pike and San Isabel
NF. IMT 1 (Harvey). Three miles west of Colorado Springs, CO. Timber,
hardwood slash and brush. Active fire behavior. Several communities
and the U.S. Air ForceAcademy threatened. Evacuations in effect.
Weber, San Juan District, BLM. IMT 2 (Lowe). One mile south of Mancos,
CO. Timber and brush. Backing fire. Numerous structures and
communication towers threatened. Evacuations in effect.
