AFTER A PERIOD OF DRY WEATHER OVER INTERIOR NORTHERN CALIFORNIA...A
COLD FRONT WILL SWEEP ACROSS THE AREA BRINGING RAIN...MOUNTAIN SNOW
AND WIND TO THE REGION. HOWEVER...IT DOES NOT LOOK LIKE A LOT OF
RAIN AND SNOW.

MOST OF THE PRECIPITATION WILL FALL NORTH OF THE INTERSTATE 80
CORRIDOR WITH THE SHASTA COUNTY MOUNTAINS RECEIVING MOST OF THE
PRECIPITATION. RAINFALL AMOUNTS OF AN INCH OR MORE ARE FORECAST FOR
THE AREA...WITH AMOUNTS TAPERING TO A FEW TENTHS OF INCH OVER THE
COASTAL MOUNTAINS AND SIERRA NEVADA NORTH OF INTERSTATE 80.

SNOW LEVELS WILL BE RELATIVELY HIGH...ABOVE 5000 FEET OVER THE
SHASTA COUNTY MOUNTAINS TO AROUND 7000 FEET OVER THE INTERSTATE 80
CORRIDOR ON FRIDAY WHEN MOST OF THE PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED.
SNOWFALL AMOUNTS GENERALLY FROM 2 TO 4 INCHES ARE FORECAST...WITH AN

PATCHY AREAS OF FOG ARE PERSISTENT ACROSS THE AREA THIS MORNING
WITH SOME OF THE LOWEST VISIBILITIES IN EASTERN NEW ORLEANS ALONG
INTERSTATE 10 AND ALONG INTERSTATE 12 BETWEEN HAMMOND AND DENHAM
SPRINGS. WHILE VISIBILITIES AT THE REPORTING STATIONS ARE NOT
SHOWING MUCH IN THE WAY OF FOG...VISIBILITIES IN SOME OF THESE
AREAS COULD BE AS LOW AS ONE HALF MILE ACCORDING TO REPORTS
RELAYED TO THE OFFICE THIS MORNING. MOTORISTS SHOULD USE EXTRA
CAUTION WHEN DRIVING IN AREAS OF FOG AND ALLOW FOR EXTRA DRIVE
TIME. THE FOG IS EXPECTED TO BURN OFF RATHER QUICKLY OVER THE
NEXT COUPLE OF HOURS.
